Here is the next of a group of horned gramophones that I am restoring.
These gramophones do not carry a well known name, but are original machines that were imported into the UK from the Continent in about 1910. They usually have good quality Swiss motors and play well. They were imported to help meet with the demand for gramophones as not enough were being made in the UK at that time. The gramophone in the picture is of much better quality than most with a really well made case. The original embossed steel horn has been repainted.
The original motor has been replaced with a vey good double spring motor which runs smoothly nd the gramophone plays well with a good quality , later, soundbox..
Gramophones like this are generally known as "Swiss" machines.
